Hopson warning over politicising health and social care

Politicians should avoid using the NHS as a weapon during the General Election and instead offer ‘proper, sustainable’ solutions for the social care crisis, a leading health sector figure has argued.

Politicians should avoid using the NHS as a weapon during the General Election and instead offer ‘proper, sustainable' solutions for the social care crisis, a leading health sector figure has argued.

Chris Hopson, chief executive of NHS Providers, said the health service and social care are ‘two sides of the same coin and political manifestos needed to set out a ‘process and timeline for when and how that solution will be developed'.
