Hospitals brought to the brink by PFI

Andrew Lansley warns that more than 60 hospitals are on the brink of collapse by PFI schemes.

Health secretary Andrew Lansley has warned that more than 60 hospitals have been brought 'to the brink' of collapse by PFI schemes.

Mr Lansley said he has been contacted by 22 health trusts, which claim that their financial stability is being undermined by the controversial funding mechanism, which were heavily favoured by the previous Labour-run government.
