ECONOMIC GROWTH

Hounslow LBC is covering all of the bases

Councils’ strategies are ranging from managing demand and shifting contact channels, to moving to smaller and cheaper offices, pulling services in-house, and setting-up commercial operations to generate income. Cllr Steve Curran and Mary Harpley explain Hounslow LBC’s multi-faceted approach.

Visitors to Hounslow LBC's civic centre in the west of London walk past a building site. On land where the staff car park stood, cranes tower over hundreds of new homes under construction to address local housing needs.

This is just part of two new housing zones that will see 3,600 homes built in Hounslow, as well as a further 3,300 in Feltham – of which 2,760 are affordable homes and 412 are council homes.
