Demand for Shelter's advisory services has swelled as rising living costs and cuts to housing support hit tenants, according to the housing charity.

The number of callers helped with housing cost and debt issues by Shelter has risen by 40% over the last year, while online visitors to the charity's housing costs advice services have doubled during the past six months.
