The housing crisis is one of the most pressing challenges facing economic growth, according to a think-tank, and cities are best placed to decide what is needed locally.

The sixth annual Cities Outlook from the Centre for Cities claims some areas – such as Oxford or London – would benefit from cash to kick-start house-building, while investment in existing housing stock would improve other areas, such as Burnley or Bradford.
