Housing instability a threat to Help to Buy, warns PAC

The Coalition's flagship Help to Buy scheme has been branded a ‘casino policy', which could be undone by a downturn in the housing market, by a senior MP.

Nearly 13,000 new homes were purchased in the first nine months of the programme, which was launched in April 2013 by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and is delivered in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency.
