Housing joint ventures: strategic relationships deliver better results

When joint ventures are done well they allow the rewards and risks of housebuilding to be shared, with both parties having incentives to guarantee success, say Hugh Jeffery and Neil Stubbings.

The UK's housing industry has been in crisis for years, with an undersupply of new housing, and a significant housing deficit.

We currently have a backlog of 4.3 million homes missing from our national housing market. A deficit that would take at least half a century to fill, even if the now scrapped Government target of 300,000 homes a year were reached. [1]
