Swindon BC's recycling campaign is based around recycling an old idea – inviting the public to suggest and vote for the name of some otherwise necessary but dull bit of kit. In this case, four of its 13 recycling lorries.

The council has noted the lorry-sized coverage garnered by Boaty McBoatface. The frankly unbeatable title for one of Doncaster Council's gritters, Gritsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Anti-Slip Machinery, also earned much highly deserved praise.
