There is no case for increased public spending despite better-than-forecast borrowing figures, according to a pre-Budget comment from Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) economists.

There is no case for increased public spending despite better-than-forecast borrowing figures, according to a pre-Budget comment from Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) economists.

Borrowing this year is now expected to be £31bn lower than forecast in November's Autumn Statement and £25bn next year thanks in part to buoyant tax revenues.
