High levels of staff sickness in the Scottish Government have delayed the approval of a local authority's economic plan until next year.

According to an email from local authority staff, which was leaked to local newspapers, officials at Holyrood will not be able to consider Perth & Kinross Council's local development plan (LDP) for Tayside, because of ‘significant resource issues due to staff illness and retirements' until March 2017.
