Improvement board concludes Liverpool 'well led'

A nine-month investigation by an Improvement and Assurance Board (IAB) has concluded that Liverpool City Council is well led and on the road to improvement.

A nine-month investigation by an Improvement and Assurance Board (IAB) has concluded that Liverpool City Council is well led and on the road to improvement.

The board was set up by Liverpool last July following the withdrawal of government-appointed commissioners. The commissioners had been in place for three years in the wake of a damning Best Value inspection in 2021.
