Improvement in Brum's children's services

Birmingham City Council is making progress in its efforts to improve its children’s services, but needs to improve the consistency of its work, according to Ofsted.

Birmingham City Council is making progress in its efforts to improve its children's services, but needs to improve the consistency of its work, according to Ofsted.

In a letter to the council, summarising its fourth monitoring visit since the local authority was judged inadequate in November 2016, Ofsted wrote: ‘Positive progress ... has been maintained, with further improvement evident in specific service areas.'
