The historic boat race between Oxford and Cambridge at the weekend entertained the crowds on the banks of River Thames yet again this year.
Perhaps with rowing on the mind ahead of the event, chief executive of think-tank Localis, Liam Booth-Smith, drew a parallel between the famous race and heath and social care integration. ‘It's like two people rowing a boat with one oar,' he quipped when asked about transformation. ‘If one side has total control you go around in circles. Trying to share it means a lot of energy being expended to keep moving in the right direction. It's easy to get exhausted with the process.
