The National Association of Local Councils  has welcomed the White Paper's increased role for parish and town councils.

Chief executive, John Findlay said parish and town councils would be able to take on more services from other tiers in local government. ‘Our task is to work closely with the Government to guarantee an extended and developed role for existing and new town and parish councils, ensuring they are the focal point for all community stakeholders to come together,' he said.
