Independent local government finance commission launched

An independent commission designed to provide recommendations to party manifestos on reforming local government finance has launched.

An independent commission designed to provide recommendations to party manifestos on reforming local government finance will be launched today.

Set up by the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Chartered Institute for Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) , the Commission on Local Government Finance will issue its final recommendations on improving the current system next January.
