The inflation explanation

Michael Hudson warns councils will have to cut vital services at a time of unprecedented need if they do not get more funding to reflect inflationary pressures.

As we hit the traditional summer holiday season I thought I would use this as an example to help Treasury officials gain an insight into the life of a s151 officer carrying out financial planning.

At the moment there is a lot of discussion going on about whether local authorities really need any more money for inflation, and haven't they got pandemic funds left over they could use? So here is a short tale to maybe shed some light on the problem.
