The much-awaited Spending Review has given local government an indication of what is to come in the settlement later on this year.

This, as anticipated, revealed that local government would still be receiving the biggest percentage reduction in funding. While devolution is also present in the announcement and this is welcome, there is little detail about how this will actually work and also whether the timing will facilitate an impact in time to overlap with the funding reductions.
