Council leaders have pledged to work with the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse as it launches its first phase of investigations.

The inquiry's chair, Justice Lowell Goddard, said initially 12 different probes will be carried out, including separate investigations into the abuse of children in care at Lambeth LBC, Rochdale MBC and councils in Nottinghamshire.
