MPs have criticised weak arrangements for detecting potential fraud and malpractice at companies involved in the Government's flagship Work Programme.

A public accounts committee (PAC) report into preventing fraud in contracted employment programmes has concluded the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) lacked adequate systems to spot whether firms could undeservedly pocket payment-by-results cash in helping unemployed people secure jobs.
