Richard Poppleton has been appointed as the Planning Inspectorate's new director for Wales.

Mr Poppleton, who has worked for 22 years as a planning inspector, will officially take up his new role from April. He will be responsible for the strategic development of the inspectorate within Wales as it undergoes a period of corporate reform.
