Care directors have welcomed the news the Government's new social work inspectorate will be independent of Whitehall.
The president of the Association of Directors of Children's Services, Dave Hill, said he was ‘pleased' after children's minister Edward Timpson confirmed last week ministers planned to create a ‘new bespoke, independent regulator' to replace the Health and Care Professionals Council.
