Inspectors loosen their policies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission have put mandatory routine inspections on hold in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission have put mandatory routine inspections on hold from in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Routine inspections will stop from today, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has announced. Ofsted has also shifted its policy to one of asking providers if they want to request an inspection deferral because of coronavirus – and says it will ‘look very favourably on all such requests'.
