The interim director of Wirral MBC's adult social services department and former director of children's services in Wirral, has retired.

Howard Cooper CBE, interim director of Wirral MBC's adult social services department and former director of children's services in Wirral, has retired. Mr Cooper, who was recognised in the Queen's 2011 New Years Honours List with a CBE for services to local government, will be succeeded by Graham Hodkinson, who is currently assistant director of adult and local services at Cumbria CC.
