Shelagh O’Neill sets out how partnership, a strong sense of place, flexibility and visibility are helping Calderdale achieve its regeneration ambitions.

I have reached my two-year anniversary of working for Calderdale – a small borough in terms of population, but one of the largest by area. I have seen the capacity challenges this brings.

But with more than £300m of capital investment in Calderdale, and a 20% increase in footfall in Halifax since 2017, I have learned how values, resilience and a sense of place combine to achieve ambitions.
