Investment groups warn of changes to governance code

Council pension funds have warned that their investments could be put at risk.

Council pension funds have warned that their investments could be put at risk by proposed changes to the UK corporate governance code on going concern.

A joint letter from nine investors, including Local Authority Pension Fund Forum chairman Kieran Quinn and chief executive of the London Pensions Fund Authority Susan Martin, said a ‘vital investor protection would be watered down' if the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) went ahead with the controversial changes.
