The London mayor should be given power over housing benefits in the capital, according to the influential Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR).

In a report published today (8 May), the IPPR suggests the London Local Housing Allowance caps should be raised by £10 per week to help low income households meet the capital's high rents.
