IRRV in new target call

The Government should introduce a target for the amount of local income that councils should raise through sales, fees and charges, the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) has suggested.

The Government should introduce a target for the amount of local income that councils should raise through sales, fees and charges, the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) has suggested.

In a submission to the Treasury Committee, the IRRV said the target should be ‘demanding, with a level of 20% being achieved within five years and 30% within 10 years.
