Island councils demand commitment on devolved decision-making

Scotland’s three island councils have called for an early meeting with the new secretary of state over commitments made by the previous government to devolve decision-making powers.

Scotland's three island councils have called for an early meeting with the new secretary of state over commitments made by the previous government to devolve decision-making powers.

Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles councils said in a joint statement they want an early meeting with David Mundell, who was appointed by the prime minister last week as Scottish secretary, over the Our Islands Our Future programme.
