The Isle of Wight is re-inventing itself as an eco-island with a focus on the economy and the environment reports Cllr David Pugh.

It was in 2008 that Eco Island – a concept that would establish the Isle of Wight as a blueprint for a sustainable community – was officially launched to great fanfare.
