It's time to get to work

Heather Jameson assesses the growing to-do list facing the sector as a new government takes shape, with Brexit still looming in the background.

Since 24 May – the day Prime Minister Theresa May announced she would step down as leader of the Conservative Party – the political news has been dominated by the debate on who should succeed her.

Now we know Boris Johnson will take on the top job, we are back to the issue that has engulfed UK politics for so long: Brexit. With a deal looking increasingly difficult, that will mean two things for local government.
