Former Bristol City Council chief executive Jan Ormondroyd has been selected to lead beleaguered Rotherham MBC as interim chief executive, with a troubleshooting brief to manage ongoing reviews, it has been revealed.

Mr Ormondroyd will take up the post, fixed at a £160,000 salary, from 3 November after a consultation process that involved support from the Local Government Association to find an appropriate candidate capable of guiding the beleaguered authority through some crunch challenges.
