This week, my mind seems to have been dominated by jobs.

Speaking to new shadow secretary of state, Hilary Benn, about his new role; hearing about Wiltshire chief, Andrew Kerr, stepping down; and waiting for the new chief of Doncaster to be announced, all played a part – as did replying to many kind e-mails about my own new post.
