Jobs boost for 13 councils

Thirteen cities have been given extra powers by the Government to tackle unemployment.

In a move which backs the Government's rhetoric to devolve more powers down to cities and regions, they will target those most in need to get them off benefits and into jobs. A grant of £5m will get the plans off the ground and extra cash will be given to those meeting their targets.
