London Councils has urged Whitehall to join forces to help tackle the capital's acute long-term accommodation for the homeless.

Whitehall departments must join forces to help tackle the capital's acute long-term accommodation shortage for homeless people, London Councils has urged.

The umbrella group representing London's boroughs has set out an action plan suggesting how the DCLG and Department for Work and Pensions could work better with local government, and also advocates tax relief to help alleviate a dearth of private sector landlords willing to house homeless people on benefits.
