Our journey to #BarNET ZERO

Every step takes Barnet LBC on its journey to becoming one of London’s most sustainable boroughs, writes chief executive, John Hooton.

In May 2022, Barnet declared a climate and biodiversity emergency, setting the target of becoming a net zero council by 2030 and place no later than 2042, pledging to go further and faster than before, putting sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

Last month we launched #BarNET ZERO, our new borough-wide campaign, looking to bring communities, residents, and businesses with us on our journey to net zero. We recognise we cannot do this alone and everyone has a part to play.
