A high court judge has ruled that Hillingdon London Borough Council wrongly deprived an autistic man of his freedom for almost a year.

A high court judge has ruled that Hillingdon London Borough Council wrongly deprived an autistic man of his freedom for almost a year.

In a case, which could have implications for other authorities, the court ruled that 21-year old Steven Neary was deprived of his liberty, despite repeated pleas from his father, Mark Neary, to let him come home.
