Katherine Kerswell has been appointed as the director general for civil service reform.

Ms Kerswell is the former managing director of Kent CC and is the second high profile appointment from local government to the civil service, following that of Sir Bob Kerslake, the former chief executive of Sheffield City Council in January this year.
