Keeping a Keene eye on public health's future

Sandie Keene has stepped down from her role as president of Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS). Here, she shares her thoughts about the past year

 I do not have to remind readers of The MJ that this past year has been one of unprecedented change for social care. Reduced funding for local government, integration with health services and forthcoming new legislation all contribute to the burden carried by councils across the land.

Add to this an increasing focus on quality and heightened expectations on the part of the public and we have the potential for meltdown or resurgence in equal measure.
