Keir waste deal ends for Bristol

Bristol City Council has announced it is moving waste services to a new local authority-owned company after agreeing to end its contract with Kier by mutual consent.

Bristol City Council has announced it is moving waste services to a new local authority-owned company after agreeing to end its contract with Kier by mutual consent.

The council's cabinet approved the move on 12 June, which will see vehicles, equipment and staff move over to a new organisation known as Bristol Waste Company, subject to a settlement agreement between the local authority and Kier, who currently manage the service.
