Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone and TfL are continuing with plans for a West London tram, despite opposition from Ealing LBC.
The newly Tory-controlled council disbanded its team of consultants established to work on the £650m scheme (The MJ, 25 May 2006). Richard Barnes, London Assembly Conservative member of the borough described the mayor as ‘autocratic', and said London Conservatives would redouble their efforts to ensure the West London tram did not proceed.
