Kent CC reiterates calls for tighter regulations as its revealed all care homes in Thanet are full of young people from outside the county.

Kent CC has reiterated calls for tighter regulations after it was revealed that all the care homes in Thanet are full of young people from outside the county.

According to the county council, more than 20 homes in the area are exclusively looking after children placed by other local authorities. Cabinet member for children's services, Cllr Jenny Whittle, said Kent CC wants to see a change in the law so that young people can only be placed within 20 miles of their local authority boundary, unless there are special circumstances.
