Katherine Kerswell has been appointed as interim chief executive of Newham LBC to replace current chief Kim Bromley-Derry, who will retire at the end of this month.

Ms Kerswell has been chief executive of councils at all levels of local government, including a stint at troubled county Northamptonshire CC from 2007-2010.
