A key player in devolution to the North has cast doubts over the chances of a deal being signed to hand powers to Yorkshire.

Speaking last night at the New Local Government Network's (NLGN) Spending Review Revue, chair of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and leader of Wakefield Council, Cllr Peter Box, said it would be ‘unlikely' he would agree to a devolution deal unless fiscal powers and the ability to raise council tax were handed over.
