Who says kids aren't interested in politics?

More than 80 youngsters in Knowsley MBC took part in the authority's inaugural Young People's Question Time last week.

More than 80 youngsters in Knowsley MBC took part in the authority's inaugural Young People's Question Time last week – forcing local MPs, councillors and police chiefs to discuss issues of concern to them.

Many of the youngsters' concerns echoed those of austerity-era adults – preparing school-leavers for work, affordable transport, and tackling mental health challenges. The panel was chaired by Knowsley MBC chief executive, Sheena Ramsey , and included local MP George Howarth, and police chief superintendent Mike Cloherty .
