Kier loses £73m following portfolio change programme

Property group Kier has been hit by a loss of £73m over the last year after the company embarked on an ambitious portfolio simplification programme.

Property group Kier has been hit by a loss of £73m over the last year after the company embarked on an ambitious portfolio simplification programme.

The property, residential, construction and services group has attributed this £73m charge to reorganisation of the company and other non-underlying items, such as health and safety fines. However, its underlying profit for the past year is forecast to be in line with expectations.
