Phil Kirby has been appointed as the new chief executive of Broadland DC, starting in October when current chief Colin Bland takes early retirement.

Mr Kirby joined Broadland in 1996 and is currently the council's strategic director and chief planner. His appointment means the authority is able to reorganise its senior management structure, reducing the number of directorate posts from three to two.
