Leading consultants have reported mayoral referendums taking place today could give local government strong leadership.

Mayoral referendums taking place in ten cities today could give local government the strong leadership needed to address key social and economic priorities, leading consultants have reported.

Votes on whether to have directly-elected city mayors are taking place in Bradford, Birmingham, Bristol, Coventry, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield and Wakefield.
