Shadow health secretary, John Healey, has called for a cross-party consensus to help build a fairer deal for older people.
Speaking at an event organised by the Institute for Public Policy Research (ippr) think-tank, the former local government minister said the Labour Party leadership was determined to work towards a ‘high point in care politics' through consensus. Mr Healey said he wanted to collaborate with other politicians to create a ‘stable, sustainable system' of social care.
