Labour pledges to scrap the Health and Social Care Act should it win the next election while simultaneously moving towards a single health and care service will cause chaos, health chiefs have warned.

At Labour's conference on September 25 Shadow health secretary Andy Burnham said a Labour government would scrap the Act, adding: ‘In the first Queen's Speech of the next Labour Government, we will repeal the Act.'
