Labour council leaders have written to Prime Minister Theresa May criticising the Stronger Towns Fund for failing to address needs of communities around the country.

Labour council leaders have written to Prime Minister Theresa May criticising the Stronger Towns Fund for failing to address needs of communities around the country.

In a letter to Mrs May, 64 council leaders pointed out the £1.6bn boost to deprived areas until 2026 was equivalent to just £260m a year – a ‘drop in the ocean' in a context of widespread cuts to local authorities.
